About Me

Artist portrait

My name is Lacey Presley, I'm a painter and illustrator from Dallas Georgia but am currently based in Vermont. I boast a pretty multi media art background. My mentor growing up was a sculptor, and I've been known to dabble in textiles. I love up cycling my own clothes and making things for friends. I am an amateur quilter but it's been one of my favorite things to do the past couple years. I have been a passionate creator my whole life, and don't believe in limitations. I like to be everywhere and doing everything all at once. I frequently explore decay and grief through my work, though sometimes I just draw unicorns. I have been inspired by nature more than ever since moving to Vermont with my partner to explore off grid living and homesteading practices. I am always and forever inspired by fairy tales and stories of fantastical worlds containing creatures and perspectives different from our own.

Outside of my creative endeavors I am a pottery peddler at a local studio, and I volunteer for a few orgs, most recently (and proudly) Remake second hand art supply store in Rutland. Giving to projects that are dear to me, such as advocating for and assisting disabled people, and anything that supports creatives or gives folks the agency to make art and be creative is a huge part of my life. Environmental protection is another thing I strive for in everything I do, even outside of philanthropic work. I currently live in a small chamber underground that I dug all by myself, with an entrance just big enough for my body to squeeze through and a small hole for air. Through my portfolio and website I am aiming to foster connections with other artists and bring some magic and wonder into the lives of those that need it. I aim to provide fully sustainable and eco friendly pieces and packaging to those who want to get their hands on a piece of my very own world for themselves. I think when something speaks to you, you should speak back.

Thank you bunches for visiting, you can explore my portfolio or check out my shop while you're here. If you have any questions or concerns or would just like to say hello, I would love to hear from you. You can contact me here. Happy viewing freaks!
